Seriously Working On The Indian Market, Hyundai Will Present 600 DC Charging
JAKARTA - Based on the latest UN data, a significant population increase puts India at the top of the list of the most populous countries, surpassing China, which previously held the record for decades.
In the automotive industry itself, India also plays a key role in supporting vehicle sales, so it is not surprising that various manufacturers have their own assembly factories in this country, including Hyundai.
Hyundai not only has a commitment to model expansion, including electrification in various countries, but also intends to expand the supporting ecosystem for EV users.
Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Thursday, December 12, the South Korean brand also plans to install at least 600 DC fast charging stations in India by 2032. The manufacturer will install these chargers in stages in the next 7 years which will be installed on main roads and a number of major cities.
In addition, this well-known vehicle manufacturer also intends to prepare as many as 50 DC fast charging by the end of this year on all roads, cities, and dealers.
Then, the manufacturer with the 'H lopsided logo signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu city government, India to set up 100 EV charging stations in the country in the next two years.
Function Head of Corporate Planning Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), Jae Wan Ryu said this step was taken in response to his side's rapid development of EVs in the country.
The electric vehicle market is expected to grow rapidly in 2030. Studies conducted by HMIL show that customers are worried about driving their electric vehicles for long-distance travel and highways due to a lack of charging infrastructure," said Jae Wan Ryu.
Now, manufacturers already have a number of charging systems for EVs in India that can be accessed by both Hyundai and non-Hyundai electric vehicle owners as long as they have access through the My Hyundai application.
In addition, Hyundai intends to expand its pure electric vehicle model in the country by introducing Creta EV in early 2025 as a competitor to MG ZS EV and Suzuki eVitara.
