Kobe Bryant Tembus Hall Of Fame Basket 2020
JAKARTA - The winner of the 2020 edition of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame has been released by the NBA, names such as Kobe Bryan, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan are three of the nine figures who will be crowned in accordance with this achievement.
Launching the official NBA website, Sunday, April 5, the Hall of Fame will be officially embedded in a ceremony held in Springfield, Massachusetts, on August 29.
In addition to the three big names above, six other names who received this award include Eddie Sutton, Rudy Tomjanovic, Tamika Catchings, Kim Mulkey, Barbara Stevens, and Patrick Baumann.
"This 2020 class must be recognized as one of the most historic of all time, for the talent and social impact these nine figures have shown," Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame President said on the NBA website.
The late Kobe is a basketball player who has entered the NBA All-Star team 18 times and is a collector of the five NBA championship rings with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe died tragically in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna and seven other people on January 26.
"There are no words that can describe how important Kobe Bryant is to the LA Lakers. Kobe is not only a winner, but he gives everything for basketball," said LA Lakers President Jeani Buss.
Meanwhile, Duncan, who spent his entire career at the San Antonio Spurs, won the NBA three times and entered the All-Star team 15 times. Garnett is a 15 times All-Star team member, nine times Best Defensive Team winner and one NBA champion with the Boston Celtics.
Then there is Sutton, who has won the title of best coach four times at the university level competition. Furthermore, Tomjanovich was selected five times in the NBA All-Star team during his time as a player and twice won the NBA while training the Houston Rockets.
Turning to Catchings, owner of four Olympic women's basketball gold medals, ten times on the WNBA All-Star team and one WNBA champion with Indiana Fever in 2012. Then Mulkey, three times led Baylor University to win the women's university-level competition (NCAA) as a coach.
Stevens also emerged, who won the five-time Best Coach title in the second division women's university competition. Meanwhile, Baumann was the Secretary General of FIBA from January 2003 until his death on October 13, 2018.
These nine players will side by side with other basketball legends such as Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who have entered the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.
