Mataram OTT Police Head Of SMK, Receives Extortion Of IDR 50 Million In Red Plastics
The Mataram City Police took a hand arrest of the Head of the SMK Division of the West Nusa Tenggara Education and Culture Office with the initials M regarding the alleged illegal levies on project work at SMKN 3 Mataram.
Head of the Mataram Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKPRegi Halili, confirmed the arrest of the official with evidence of IDR 50 million in cash which was allegedly the result of illegal levies (extortion).
"Our hand arrest action took place against the Head of the NTB Education and Culture Vocational School, the initials M, shortly after receiving Rp50 million in cash from a supplier of building materials for the project at SMK 3 Mataram," said Regi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 11.
The Rp50 million money was found in red plastic. In the plastic, there is a brown envelope with the stamp of PT Utama Putramas Mandiri which reads administrative costs.
Apart from M and cash, there were also five witnesses who knew and saw that the incident took place and were also arrested.
Regi ensured that this arrest activity was a follow-up to information from the public.
This police action took place on Wednesday evening at around 17.30 WITA with the location of the arrest at the NTB Education and Culture Office.
Regi added that the Head of SMK initials M and the witness are still undergoing examination at the Mataram Police Headquarters, while the cash in the brown envelope has been confiscated as evidence.
