Beware Of Being Fooled By Abal-Abal Beauty Clinics, Here Are Tips To Avoid It

JAKARTA - Along with the increasing public demand for skin care, there are currently many beauty clinics available.

Not infrequently, some people often seek treatment that suits their needs, such as treatment for having smooth skin, overcoming acne scars to a glowing face. But unfortunately, currently, there are quite a lot of illegal beauty practices to fake clinics that have the potential to endanger health.

Responding to this, the Chairman of the Communication and Education Commission of the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN), Heru Sutadi, reminded the public to be more vigilant in choosing beauty clinics and skin care products.

"Beautificate practices carried out by parties who are not competent or do not have a medical background can pose a great risk to health," Heru was quoted as saying by ANTARA.

In avoiding fake beauty clinics, the first step that must be taken is to ensure that the beauty clinics visited have valid permission from the Ministry of Health and the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI).

He emphasized the importance of collaborating with law enforcement officials to take firm action against beauty clinics that operate without permission and the practice of fake doctors involved in the business.

Heru also reminded the public to be careful in choosing skincare products that are widely circulated in e-commerce and markets. Consumers are asked to always check product distribution permits from BPOM and ensure that these products are safe and do not contain harmful ingredients that can damage the skin and health of the body.

Heru added that the public needs to be wiser in considering beauty surgery offers, such as nose or chin surgery procedures, which are now increasingly being found. He appealed that each of these procedures is only carried out by competent doctors and has a valid practice permit.

For procedures carried out abroad, Heru also emphasized the importance of verifying the legality of service providers in the country.

BPKN also supports BPOM's efforts to monitor the circulation of illegal beauty products, both through market inspection and monitoring on e-commerce platforms.

beauty products that do not have a distribution permit are asked to be immediately withdrawn from circulation, but this supervision also requires consumer awareness to remain alert to products circulating in the market.

"People need to be careful of beauty clinics and skincare products whose quality is not guaranteed. Do not let the effort to beautify yourself even lead to health problems," said Heru.

With increased consumer education and tighter supervision, it is hoped that it can suppress illegal practices in the fake beauty industry and protect the public from health risks that can arise.
