BWF World Tour Finals 2024: Febriana/Amallia Bitter Debut

JAKARTA - The women's doubles pair Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi made their un sweet debut at the BWF World Tour Finals 2024.

Their first competitive meeting with representatives of South Korea, Baek Ha-na/Lee So-hee, ended in the defeat of two straight games 6-21 and 17-21 on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, evening WIB.

"In the first game, our return of the ball was still a lot inaccurate, so the points were wasted from there. Many came out and were responsible," Amalia said in a statement received.

Amallia also admitted that apart from playing poorly, they were also a little tense as a debutant pair at this event.

"The results are not satisfactory. However, there are still next opportunities that we must maximize," he said.

This defeat made the pair who won the China Taipei Open 2024 need to rise and win the remaining two matches if they wanted to keep their chances of qualifying for the next round.

However, their journey will not be less difficult with this first appearance. The reason is, they still have to meet Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan.

The host pair will be here to win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in August 2024. In addition, they are also ranked third in the world.

Another pair they have to face are representatives of Japan, Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi. So far Febriana/Amallia still lost their winning-loss record 1-2.
