Erick Thohir: Hospitals In Sanur Health SEZ Ready To Operate April 2025

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said Bali International Hospital (BIH), a hospital located in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (KEK), Bali, will operate in April 2025.

Erick revealed that the progress of the construction of the hospital building has reached 97 percent. Meanwhile, the procurement of medical equipment is expected to reach 90 percent next week.

"From the readiness of the building for hospitals, it has reached 97 percent. For the latest equity of 80, maybe now after a few weeks it can be 90 percent," he said when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 11.

Erick said the patient service trial will begin in January 2025. Meanwhile, in February 2025, it will begin to determine the selected patient. Then, the trial will be carried out again in March 2025.

"Hopefully in April, I met Pak Prabowo yesterday to convey that Pak Prabowo can start opening, we'll see hopefully in early April," he said.

Regarding doctors who work at BIH, Erick said he would prioritize Indonesian citizens (WNI) who study or work abroad or diaspora. According to him, so far diaspora doctors find it difficult to return to the country.

"I have checked, we prioritize our diaspora abroad, which so far schools abroad cannot go home, we try to prioritize them," he said.

Erick revealed that many diaspora have been interested in working in BIH. However, Erick admitted that he could not reveal how many doctors needed in BIH or those who had submitted their resumes.

"I think there will be a lot of CV-CV when it opens, if I can't open it to the public now, I have a lot of interest. Thank God there are a lot of responses," said Erick.

For your information, BIH is designed with the concept of a green hospital, which integrates modern international standard medical facilities. This hospital has a capacity of 255 beds, equipped with a leading service center (Centers of Excellence) in the fields of Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterohepatology, and Orthopedics (CONGO).

The flagship hospital under the auspices of PT Pertamina Bina Medika (IHC), has a building area of 50,000 square meters.
