Premier League Referee David Cotte Officially Fired, Files With Jurgen Kloop And Liverpool
JAKARTA - Premier League referee David Cotte has been fired in connection with ridicule against Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp as well as several other cases.
PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited), the agency responsible for being a match referee in English professional football, announced the sacking on Monday, December 9, 2024, local time.
PGMOL said that Cotte was expelled on the grounds of committing serious violations of his contract.
Cotte has been investigated after a leaked video showed him in full omelan swearing about Liverpool and former manager of the Reds, Jurgen Klopp.
He is also being investigated by UEFA after a video published by The Sun allegedly showed him breathing white powder while on duty at Euro 2024.
