Rumors Wladimir Klitschko Comeback Strengthen

JAKARTA Rumors of the possible return of former boxer who was once a heavyweight world champion from Ukraine, Wladimir Klitschko, to the ring have continued and have recently strengthened.

Tom Loeffler, who is an old promoter of Klitschko, also strengthened the signal. In a recent interview with Randy Gordon and Gerry Comoney, the host of At the Fights on SiriusXM, he did not deny the rumors.

"I will let Wladimir talk to himself about it," he said, quoted by Boxing Scene.

Loeffler was known to have founded K2 Promotions in 2002 with Wladimir's brother, Vitali Klitschko. The name was used to refer to the last names of the two brothers fighters.

Wladimir has not boxed since his loss to Anthony Joshua in 2017. It was one of his five professional defeats in the 69 fights he fought.

Currently, Wladimir is 48 years old, but speculation regarding him being tempted to go down the mountain in order to break the record as the oldest heavyweight world champion continues to blow.

Currently the record still belongs to GeorgeOKer. The American fighter became the oldest world champion at the age of 45 when he won knockout (KO) over Michael Moorer in 1994.

"Wladimir once said in the past that he was eager to break GeorgeOKer's record as the oldest heavyweight champion," Loeffler said.

According to reports, Wladimir will not fight compatriot Oleksandr Usyk who recently defeated Tyson Fury to lead the title as the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

Usyk and Fury will fight again on December 21, 2024. The winner in the fight is likely to have an unification duel with Daniel Dubois who controls the IBF belt.

Dubois was also referred to as the opponent targeted by Wladimir if he really returned to the ring.

Dubois masih akan melawan Joseph Parker pada Februari 2025 untuk berusaha menjaga gelar.
