Encourage Digital Economy Transformation To Be Free From The Midle Income Trap
Assistant Deputy for Digital Economy at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Danang Sri Wibowo, said that in realizing the transformation of the digital economy, synergy is needed between the government and all stakeholders.
"The direction of the digital transformation policy is the basis for these various things to be carried out in a designative manner between the government and all stakeholders," he said in the Socialization of PMSE Data and Information Submission, Tuesday, December 10.
According to Danang, the government is committed to encouraging the transformation of the digital economy to bring Indonesia out of the middle income trap.
"So what is still homework is how the economic transformation can bring Indonesia out of the middle income trap," he explained.
Danang explained that there are several big targets for economic transformation, such as the GDP ratio of the manufacturing industry of 28 percent and reaching 100 billion US dollars. Then, the proportion of the creative economy is 11 percent, the open unemployment rate is 4 percent, science and technology spending and innovation is 2.2 percent to 2.3 percent and logistics costs are 8 percent.

Danang said that there are several policy directions for economic transformation such as encouraging science, innovation, economic productivity, the application of a Green Economy, Digital Transformation, Domestic and Urban Economic Integration as a Center for Economic Growth.
In addition, Danang conveyed that the direction of digital economic transformation policy includes, firstly, the formation of regulations and higher-level institutions. Second, the development of digitally talented infrastructure and the provision of human resources. Third, accelerating digitization of various sectors and strengthening digital invoation research-based technology.
Fourth, the development of a digital payment system. Fifth, the development of integrated government and private data. Sixth, the commitment to strengthening cyber security.
