Director Of RSUD Panglima Sebaya Wins KPK Award For Gratification Reporting
JAKARTA - Director of RSUD Panglima Sebaya Kamal Ashari received an award from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2024. He is considered one of the role models for reporting gratuities in the form of money from vendors amounting to Rp30 million.
"The complaint from the inspirational gratification reporter for 2024 can be used as a role model and inspiration regarding his example in reporting gratuities," said KPK Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan when giving the award quoted on Tuesday, December 10.
Pahala hopes that other state administrators can work professionally. "So that it can improve the quality of gratification control in the work environment to minimize the risk of corruption," he said.
Furthermore, Pahala revealed that there had been 3,585 gratification reports that had entered until November 2024. Meanwhile, since 2016, there have been 15,082 submissions made by state officials.
Even so, Pahala said there were still many facilities, money or other objects that were not reported. Thus, public awareness is needed to avoid giving gratuities.
"Long journeys must be taken to build awareness among state officials in order to serve the community without gratification as well as educate the public not to give something to public officials," he said.

State administrators, continued Pahala, must also be aware that unreported gratification can be an entry point for corruption. They were asked to be brave even though they were considered against something that became a habit.
"Because the acceptance of imi is indicated in conflicts of interest or an unnatural form of acceptance. For this reason, reporting gratification is not an easy thing because those who report to the KPK are considered to be against an mainstream in the work environment where gratification occurs," concluded the Coordinator of the National Strategy for Corruption Prevention (Stranas PK).
