House Of Representatives Waits For Presidential Letter To Discuss Prosecutorial Bill

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Azis Syamsuddin said, his party is still waiting for the presidential letter (Surpres) on the Draft Law (Bill) Prosecutor. After the Surpres entered, the Prosecutor's Bill was discussed in Commission III of the House of Representatives.

DPR, said Azis, is waiting for the President to appoint one particular minister collectively in discussing the Prosecutor's Bill.

"Staying Commission III then conduct RDPU (Money Market Funds) public hearing meeting, then conduct RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), then preparations in the preparation of inventory list of problems, which is contained in the process of discipline and legislation on the preparation of legislation", said Azis in a discussion of legislation forum themed "Bill of Prosecutors, Commitment of the House of Representatives Strengthen the Performance of the Adhyaksa Corps in the House of Representatives, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 13.

In principle, continued Azis, DPR and the government agreed to strengthen in all institutions, including prosecutors. This strengthening, according to him, should be synergy with other law enforcement officials, namely the police, then PPNS (Civil Servant Investigators), and in this case also with the judge.

"So how this juridical institution to be able to synergize, because of the investigation process, go to the prosecution, go to the judiciary, but in certain crimes, the lex specialist that the name of the prosecutor in the criminal corruption can do the process of data collection, then investigation, and at the same time prosecution", the Golkar politician explained.

Besides, he said, strengthening is also to synergize with other ministries or institutions.

"This should also be placed the position of the prosecutor, in addition to being a public prosecutor in the prosecutor's law it is also how synergy with other high-ranking state institutions and other ministries", said Azis.

This Prosecutor's Bill is a proposed initiative of Commission III of the House of Representatives, which is then harmonized in the Legislature. The chairman of the House of Representatives has approved for the discussion to be conducted in Commission III of the House of Representatives.
