Marquez Can Be Duri In Meat For Bagnaia

JAKARTA Marc Marquez's presence to the Ducati Factory team is considered to have a bad impact. The Spaniard is likely to be a thorn in the meat for his new teammate, Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia.

Bagnaia is currently a gold boy at the Ducati Lenovo Team and has now become the main driver. He was the one who gave the team the first title since Casey Stoner in 2007.

Former Michael Laverty, who is now a pundit at TNT Sports, said that Marquez's presence has the potential to change that and make competition worse.

"Pecco is a two-time world champion and has led the garage for the past few years. Suddenly, a big thorn by his side appeared. Marquez wants to control Ducati's garage," he said as quoted by Crash.

Marquez previously defended the Ducati Satellite team, Gresini Racing. He rode the old Ducati Desmosedici GP23 motorbike for one year there before moving to the manufacturer.

However, he was able to compete in the race for the world champion for the 2024 season. The six-time world champion finally finished third in the final standings, behind champion Jorge Martin and runner-up Bagnaia.

Next year, Marquez will definitely race with the same engine as Bagnaia. Thus, the competition between the two can be much hotter and potentially unhealthy.

Marquez is currently chasing the seventh MotoGP world title in his career. He last won this event in 2019 while still defending Honda.

In addition to the competition between Marquez and Bagnaia, next year's competition will also bring back Martin. The Spaniard will race with Aprilia after leaving Prima Pramac.
