Elpiji's Consumption Exceeds Quota Of Up To 103 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Perseo) reports that the 3 kg LPG consumption quota has exceeded the set quota. Pertamina's President Director, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, said the LPG quota to date has reached 103 percent.

"Indeed, if we look at the current conditions, we estimate that the quota has passed the set quota. Approximately 103 percent of the quota," said Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri at the PLN and Pertamina Preparedness Press Conference in Nat and New Year's framework, Monday, December 9.

Despite experiencing overquates, Simon ensured that the supply of LPG during the Christmas 2024 and 2025 periods was still safe. Just so you know, Pertamina estimates that LPG consumption will experience a 2.7 percent increase in demand compared to the normal period with 3 kg LPG details of 2 percent and Bright Gas of 6 percent.

Simon added, to anticipate the scarcity during the Christmas and New Year periods, Pertamina has prepared a number of strategic steps. His party demonstrated 6,478 LPG agents consisting of 5,589 PSO and 889 NPSP, 754 SPBE consisting of 627 PSO and 111 NPSO.

He further added that even though LPG experienced an overquate, subsidized fuel such as Pertalite was still in a safe condition, aka it had not experienced an overquate.

"But per condition now it has exceeded the quota, it has reached 103 percent. So there are about 3 percent. If Pertalite is still safe," continued Simon.

Pertamina projects that demand for gasoline or gasoline will increase by 5 percent during the Christmas and New Year 2025 holidays. Meanwhile, gasoline or diesel will decrease by 3.3 percent.

"Why is this? Because there may be restrictions on the transportation of public goods at Christmas and New Year," said Simon.
