Bekasi City Prepares Joint Operations for Early Homecomer
JAKARTA - Bekasi City Government, West Java prepared a joint operation plan to evict the initial travelers crossing the area before the policy to ban homecoming is enforced.
"This joint operation will be conducted before the government imposes a national homecoming ban simultaneously", said Head of Bekasi City Transportation Office Dadang Ginanjar in Bekasi on Tuesday.
Dadang said this joint operation was carried out considering the city of Bekasi to be one of the crossing routes to the north coast of Java and vice versa from Java to DKI Jakarta and so on.
In addition to officers of the Bekasi City Transportation Office, early travel operations also involve related elements ranging from police officers, TNI soldiers, to personnel of Satpol PP (Public Order Enforcers) Bekasi City.
The joint officer, he said, was tasked with optimizing socialization related to the policy of banning Eid al-Fitr 2021 before the policy was enacted.
"The ban on homecoming was from May 6 to 17, 2021, before entering that date we had gone down to the field socializing the ban on homecoming while preventing early travelers through socialization", he said reported Antara, Tuesday, April 13.
Bekasi City Transportation Office also prepared a regional sealing scheme to support the policy of homecoming ban to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19.
Dadang said a number of the main roads and border access points have been prepared to be the location of regional sealing such as the border of Bekasi-DKI Jakarta city in Harapan Indah, Sumber Arta on the Pantura Line, to Bantargebang leading to Bogor Regency.
"At the toll gate will also be done sealing. We have personnel on standby 24 hours throughout the sealing site", he said.
He ensured that officers at the sealing points would conduct inspections of vehicles suspected of intending to travel home, including checking the ownership of an Entry and Exit Permit (SIKM).
The Ministry of Transportation issued Decree No. 13 of 2021 on transportation control during the Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri period to prevent the spread of COVID-19, following up on Task Force Circular Letter No. 13/2021 concerning the elimination of Eid al-Fitr homecoming and COVID-19 control efforts during Ramadan.
The policy contains a ban on vehicle operations from May 6-17, 2021 aimed at all modes of transportation, namely land, sea, air, and railway. During that period both public transportation and private vehicles are prohibited from homecoming activities.
