Meanwhile, the doctor of Kerobokan Women's Prison, dr. Ida Ayu Sri Indra Laksmi explained that her party carried out routine health checks on Margriet.

He said that the dialysis treatment had been carried out since July 2024 with assistance from prison officers.

The Kerobokan Women's Prison also ensures that the burial of the bodies is in accordance with procedures and coordinates with the family for funerals.

Margriet Christina Megawe was previously sentenced to life in prison by the Denpasar District Court (PN) judges on Monday, February 12, 2016.

Previously, the murder case against his adopted son, Angeline, caught the public's attention, both domestically and abroad in May 2015.

Initially, the 8-year-old boy was reported missing by Margriet around his house, Jalan Sedap Malam Denpasar, Bali.

However, the incident turned even more tragic and sad when police officers found Angeline's body buried with a rope tied and hugged a doll and wrapped in a blanket in Margriet's backyard.

Apart from Margriet, the police also arrested Agustay Hamdamay who worked in the house for helping Angeline's burial. The Denpasar District Court at that time sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
