Perbasi Chairman Focuses on Bringing Indonesian Basketball to Achieve at 2025 SEA Games

JAKARTA - Budisatrio Djiwandono as the General Chairman (Ketum) of the Central Board of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PP Perbasi) expressed his serious determination during his leadership era.

Budisatrio wants to bring the Indonesian National Basketball Team to achieve the best achievement at the 2025 SEA Games which will be held in Thailand.

"We know that in the future there are several important agendas for basketball. For the Indonesian National Basketball Team in 2025, there is the SEA Games. We want to achieve good achievements."

"However, in the future, these achievements can also be built through more competitions," said Budisatrio after the PP Perbasi Plenary Meeting in Jakarta, Friday, December 6, 2024.

The determination to bring the best achievements cannot be separated from the previous results in the 2025 FIBA ​​Asia Qualification, where Indonesia failed to advance.

However, for Budisatrio, this is actually a whip. He also accepts it as a new responsibility so that he can perform better.

As an initial effort to improve the quality of basketball in Indonesia, Budisatrio is trying to bring a number of international matches to the country.

"I recently signed the desire or intention of PP Perbasi as the parent of basketball sports in Indonesia to host the U-17 and U-19 World Cups in 2028 and 2029," he said.

In addition, Perbasi will also intensify competitions at various age levels. Because, so far, according to him, the development of the U-14 and U-16 age groups has been quite good.

"Now we also see with the joining of Mas Azrul (Founder of DBL, Azrul Ananda as Deputy Chair of Competition and Development of Perbasi) so far fostering through the DBL League which is very good."

"However, we need to increase these competitions in the future. I emphasize on this occasion not only men's competitions, but also women's competitions," he said again.
