"Done only to keep, so that the community feels safe, the community feels protected, protected from the threats of kamtibmas disorder. So if colleagues with whistles can not reprimand, can not stop, colleagues can issue a warning,"Said Sigit.

Komnas HAM noted that there were 1,992 complaints from the public during the period 2016 to 2020. The whistleblower complained that the slow handling of the case, criminalization, mistreatment, and legal process were not in accordance with the procedure.

"The police are the highest party because there are cases and accused of violating human rights. But the handling done by the Police is not appropriate," said Ahmad Taufan in the Hearing Meeting (RDP) of Commission III of the House of Representatives at the Dpr building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 6.

However, Ahmad said the National Police became the most responsive institution when Komnas HAM asked for an explanation of complaints of alleged human rights violations.
