Note! Homecoming Ban Doesn't Apply To This Area

JAKARTA - The government imposed a ban on Eid al-Fitr 2021 homecoming. The homecoming ban applies to all modes of transportation, both land, sea, air, and train on May 6-17, 2021 throughout Indonesia. However, there are some areas that are excluded and allowed to do transportation activities when the homecoming ban is imposed.

The area is referred to as an agglomeration area or urban environment. The rules on the prohibition of Eid al-Fitr homecoming are stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation or Permenhub No. PM 13 of 2021 concerning Transportation Control of Eid al-Fitr 1442 H. However, in the Permenhub there are 37 cities that are not subject to a ban on homecoming, which covers 8 agglomeration areas.

General of Land Transportation Ministry of Transportation Budi Setiyadi said, in the area that is included in the exception of the ban on homecoming, land transportation and trains can still operate.

"Related to the issue of agromeration or urban environment, so for urban areas there are some areas that we have skip in the regulation of the Ministry of Transportation. So it is still possible to continue or still do movement activities," Budi said during a press conference, quoted Tuesday, April 13.

The following areas are exempt for ground transportation:

1. Medan, Binjai, Deli Serdang and Karo

2. Jabodetabek: Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi

3. Greater Bandung: Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi City, and West Bandung Regency

4. Jogyakarta Raya: Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul, Kulon Progo, Gunungkidul

5. Semarang, Kendal, Demak, Ungaran, and Purwodadi

6. Solo Raya: Solo City, Sukoharjo, Boyolali, Klaten, Wonogiri, Karanganyar, and Sragen

7. Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Sidoarjo

8. Makassar, Sungguminasa, Takalar, Maros

Outside the 8 agglomeration areas, the homecoming ban is in full force. For people who violate the ban on Eid al-Fitr 2021 homecoming, will be ordered to turn around or be charged a ticket.

7. Yogyakarta
