Francesco Bagnaia Qualifies Marc Marquez's Comments

JAKARTA Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia denied Marc Marquez's comments that he would become a leader as well as a reference at the Ducati manufacturer in MotoGP 2025.

Marquez is a newcomer to the Ducati Lenovo Team next season. The Spaniard, who has won six times, left Gresini and worked with Bagnaia.

As a newcomer, Marquez also sees Bagnaia as an excuse for his new team later, especially in pre-season and the first few races in the 2025 MotoGP.

"I will try to get closer to him because he is a reference, the driver who made Ducati win the championship and the one who drove very fast," Marquez said as quoted by Crash.

However, Bagnaia rejected the statement. He said there were no drivers whose positions were number one in the Ducati garage next season even though he was an old man.

"Musim always starts from scratch, with the riders having the same right to speak. I believe that things change during the season because every time you start from scratch," he said.

Bagnaia and Marquez are in third and fourth fastest place in next year's GP25 prototype version in Barcelona's recent test.

The next official trial will take place at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia, on February 5-7, 2025. Furthermore, the season begins in the inaugural series 28 February 2025 to March 2, 2025 in Thailand.

Thailand has been appointed as the opening to replace Qatar, which is being renovated. This is the first time the season's opening race has taken place in Southeast Asia since Malaysia in 1999.
