Indonesia Can Send Junior Athletes To The 2025 SEA Games

JAKARTA Indonesia does not rule out the possibility of dispatching junior athletes to the 2025 SEA Games which will take place in Thailand.

The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, said that the content of athletes in the Indonesian contingent for the biennial event certainly still needed a meeting with sports federations (sports).

"It could be that the 2025 SEA Games will be the participation of junior athletes, but we will see this in the future," said Dito at the Kemenpora Office, Senayan, Jakarta.

The SEA Games is a multi-branch event that can be used as preparation for other major events in the future, especially the Olympics and Asian Games.

Dito said that the Olympics and Asian Games are priorities that will be well prepared in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"In accordance with Asta Cita, Mr. President, where the priority is the Asian Games and the Olympics. So, of course, the SEA Games, maybe later we will hold a meeting with the sports," he said.

The 2025 SEA Games will take place on 9-20 December 2025. The event will take place in three major cities of Thailand, namely Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla.

In total there are 50 sports (sports), 569 numbers, and 105 disciplines will be competed with three other exhibition sports, namely flying disks, tug of war, and air sports (paragliding and paramotors).
