Dangers Of Gigi Coral, Doctors Express Symptoms, Causes, And How To Prevent It

JAKARTA - Peduli that are left alone without being cleaned regularly can have a negative impact on the health of teeth and mouth. This was said by the dentist from the Main Clinic for Nuclear Medicine at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Serpong, South Tangerang, Frida Yunisca.

"Have you ever experienced symptoms like this? Your teeth looked yellow, brown, or even black on the front? When you brush your teeth, you feel bad or your mouth smells, even though you have brushed your teeth several times? Maybe, it is a sign of dental movement," Frida said as quoted by Antara.

Frida emphasized the importance of realizing that these symptoms are often ignored until conditions become more serious. He explained that dental corals are formed from plaques that are not thoroughly cleaned. Plak is a soft layer where bacteria breed.

If not addressed immediately, he continued, the plaque will harden due to mineralization from calcium and phosphate, which ultimately forms dental corals.

"The license plate can still be cleaned with a brush. However, if it has become a dental embankment, it must be isolated with a special tool," he said.

Frida explained that dental corals are divided into two types, namely supragingiva and subgingiva. Supragingiva is above the gum line with yellowish or brown white color, depending on the severity.

Meanwhile, the subgingiva is located below the gum line with a brown to blackish color. This second type is usually more difficult to overcome because its location is hidden.

"Gots, especially those close to the gums, can causeGGivitis or inflammation of the gums. Gusi becomes red, swollen, and easily bleeding. If left unchecked, this can develop into periodontitis that damages the dental support tissue, and even causes teeth to shake," he said.

Therefore, Frida recommends various efforts that can be made to prevent the formation of dental corals, such as brushing teeth twice to three times a day in the morning and at night before bed, as well as using dental threads to clean the sidelines of teeth that are difficult to reach.

In addition, he also appealed to the public to change their dental brushes every two to three months so that their cleanliness remains optimal.

Frida also advised the public to reduce the consumption of sweet and high-carbohydrate foods, as well as routinely check with dentists every six months.

"If there are embankments, immediately do it. Don't wait until his condition worsens, because this can affect the overall health of teeth and gums," said Frida Yunisca.
