The Minister Of Transportation Said That The Rules Have Been Issued To Lower Airline Ticket Prices On Christmas And New Year's Holidays
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi revealed that he had issued a regulation to ensure the decline in aircraft ticket prices occurred.
The government has set a 10 percent decrease in ticket prices in the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) periods.
"As an effort to reduce plane ticket prices during the Nataru 2024-2025 period from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025, the Ministry of Transportation has issued legal products," he said in a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR, in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 4.
First, said Dudy, the Letter of the Minister of Transportation PR.303/1/20/MHB/2024 which was issued on November 28, 2024.
Second, KP 250 DJPU in 2024 which was issued 22 Movember 2024. This letter is addressed to PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia and UPBU Kemenhub which manages airports.
Then, continued Dudy, the Ministry of Transportation issued a KM 150 rule in 2024 which was dated on November 28, 2024.
This provision regulates the reduction in fuel surcharge costs aimed at scheduled airlines.
"The Minister of Transportation's decision on the cost of fuel surcharge, a letter from the Minister of Transportation to Airport Administrators, the decision of the Director General of Civil Aviation regarding tariff reduction, in addition to socialization, supervision, and evaluation, is carried out during the implementation of the policy for the Nataru 2024-2025 period," he explained.
Dudy also revealed a number of instruments that made plane ticket prices drop 10 percent during the Nataru holiday period.
He said he had taken four steps.
First, the additional operating hours of airports and flight navigation services to 24 hours.
Then second, a 50 percent discount for aircraft passenger service rates (PJP2U) and landing service services for aircraft storage placements or (PJP4U).

Third, the reduction in fuel cost compensation or fuel surcharge from 10 percent to 2 percent for jet types, and from 25 percent to 20 percent for propeller types.
"(Lastly) the distribution of avtur selling price discounts at 19 airports with a price range of IDR 700 to IDR 980 per liter is valid during December 2024," said Dudy.
