Ministry Of Transportation Holds Free Homecoming Program During Christmas And New Year Holidays, Ready To Transport 38 Thousand Homecomers

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) held a free homecoming program during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

The free homecoming quota provided is 38,772 passengers and 2,320 motorcycle vehicles.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said the homecoming program was presented as an effort to support the smooth running and interest of people who would travel during that period.

"The Ministry of Transportation provides three free homecoming programs during the Christmas and New Year 2024-2025 period, with a total capacity of 38,772 passengers, and 2,320 motorbikes," he said in a working meeting with Commission V DPR, in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 4.

The details, continued Dudy, the Directorate General of Land Transportation provides 11 homecoming routes from Jakarta to Solo, Jogja, Surabaya, Wonosobo, Semarang, Wonogiri, Cilacap, Purwokerto, Malang, Madiun, and Kediri.

"With 88 buses and two track units for a capacity of 3,500 passengers," he said.

Then, continued Dudy, the Directorate General of Taxation provided a crossover from Jakarta-Gebang-Lempuyangan, Jakarta-Gebang-Cirebon-Perujakan, Purwokerto Station, Kutoarjo Station, Lempuyangan Station on a trip.

"With a capacity of 5,300 passengers, and 2,320 motorcycles, the motorbike transport period is 10 days free," he explained.

Meanwhile, from the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, continued Dudy, it provides 100 shipping routes for round-trip sea transportation (PP) during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

"With a capacity of 29,972 passengers," he said.
