Zoom's Big Homework To Solve Problems In The App
JAKARTA - The Zoom teleconference application will stop developing its features in the next 90 days. This is done to fix security and privacy issues that have been questioned by many in recent weeks.
Especially since this application is increasingly popular, used by many people to work or study from home, during the COVID-19 emergency. At least according to SimiliarWeb's Analytics report, 535 percent of internet users have downloaded Zoom.
"In the next 90 days, we are committed to dedicating the energy needed to more proactively identify, track and fix (security) issues," said Zoom CEO Eric Yuan. "We will also be transparent in carrying out this process."
In writing on his personal blog, Eric explains how the company received such enthusiastic user reception. Zoom users jumped dramatically from 10 million daily users in December 2019 to 200 million daily users, who download this application for free or paid.
Obviously this is the toughest challenge for Eric to handle the surge of 200 million users. Coupled with a series of security issues for users' personal data that are increasingly burdening the company, as quoted by The Guardian.

The Zoom desktop application is also riddled with various security bug issues, some of which have the potential to allow hackers to take over users' computers. This series of problems led Zoom to be sued in Federal Court, New York.
"Zoom takes the privacy, security and trust of its users very seriously. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we are working around the clock to ensure that hospitals, universities, schools and other businesses around the world can stay connected and operational," said a spokesperson. Zoom.inc company.
Now Zoom has to temporarily be forced to freeze a series of new features that will be embedded in the application. At least Zoom should be able to immediately fix the privacy and security problems of its application.
