Hot Drinks And Risks For Cerna Channel Health
JAKARTA - Consuming hot drinks in the long term can pose a health risk, especially on the digestive tract. This was conveyed by Dr. Shapepi Agrawal, a surgeon from the HCG Cancer Center, Borivali, Mumbai, India.
In an interview reported by the Hindustan Times on Monday (2/12), Dr. Edgepi explained that a number of studies have shown a relationship between the habit of drinking hot drinks and increasing the risk of oral cancer and concavity.
"For decades, various studies have examined the impact of the consumption of hot drinks on the upper digestive tract. This study reveals surprising findings regarding potential effects that can contribute to cancer," he said.
Cancer itself is usually caused by mutations in DNA or exposure to carcinogenic substances that can interfere with cell growth and division.
Although hot drinks do not directly affect human genes, Dr. Zeppi revealed that high temperatures can affect the way cells work. "Hot drinking can affect cells in different ways, especially through mechanisms that affect cell division and repair," he explained.
The high temperature of hot drinks can also trigger inflammation of the concavity (esofagitis) and cause changes in cells (displasia), both of which are considered initial factors in cancer development.
"If not treated, this problem could develop into advanced cancer," he added.

Other studies also note that the risk of concavity cancer is not only caused by hot drinks, but also other factors such as smoking habits, alcohol consumption, and unhealthy diets.
However, Dr. Edgepi stressed that this risk can be reduced by getting used to consuming drinks at safe temperatures.
"Avoiding very hot drinks can be a simple but important step to prevent health problems in the long term," he said.
The conclusion is that maintaining healthy habits, including ensuring the temperature of the drinks consumed, can help minimize the risk of cancer and protect the health of the digestive tract.
