JAKARTA - Police said they have received developments in the handling of the shooting of two teachers in beoga area, Puncak Regency, Papua. Because, the perpetrator is said to have been identified.
Operation Nemangkawi Brig. Gen. Roycke Harry Langie said the bright spot in the case was based on a series of intensive investigations. From witness examinations to clues.
"Based on the results of the intensive investigation, the perpetrator of the shooting has been identified", Brig. Gen. Roycke said in a video teleconference with Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Monday, April 12.
However, Roycke did not detail the identity of the perpetrator of the shooting. Among the alleged perpetrators is an armed criminal group (KKB) led by Sabinus Waker.
Roycke just made sure the situation and conditions in the Boega region were conducive. Because, the combined TNI-Police team has been able to master and dampen the situation that had heated up.
He also mentioned the process of pursuing the perpetrators who have been identified is still ongoing. In fact, the perpetrators do not hesitate to act decisively.
"Together with the Chief of Police, immediately conduct a firm and measured pursuit and enforcement of the law", he said.
On the other hand, Papua Police Chief Irjen Mathius Fakhiri said the aftermath of the shootings of Oktovianus Rayo and Yonatan Renden, on April 8 and 9, the atmosphere in Beoga was quite hot. To overcome that, it was decided to take swift steps in addition to hunting down the perpetrators
A total of 46 people in Beoga, Puncak Regency, Papua will be evacuated. The goal is to prevent unwanted things from happening.
"There is a plan to evacuate residents who are currently displaced to Koramil and Beoga Police, but it is not yet known when it will be implemented considering that it is still being prepared", said Irjen Fakhiri.
According to him, it is not easy to evacuate residents given the natural conditions, where the airfield is located can only use small-bodied aircraft.
Meanwhile, the police helicopter is only able to transport five people so that it will coordinate with the Puncak Regent regarding the plan.
"Tuesday, April 13, there will be a meeting with The Peak Regent Willem Wandik in Timika", Fakhiri said.
For information, not only shot two teachers, acts of terror in Papua also continued with the burning of four schools. The perpetrator pu is still suspected to be KKB.
The four buildings burned include SD Jambul (primary school), SMP Negeri 1 (Junior high school), SMA 1 Beoga (Senior high school), and the teacher's house.
