Print Record, Microsoft Invests AI Program Up To IDR 27.6 Trillion In Indonesia
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has officially collaborated with Microsoft in creating an Artificial Intelligence (AI) training program. This program, which is considered quite large, is named Elevate.
When revealing this new partnership, Minister Komdigi Meutya Hafid said that this cooperation resulted in an investment commitment of US$1.7 billion (Rp27.6 trillion). This is the largest investment Microsoft has provided in Indonesia.
"We would like to thank you for the investment commitment of USD 1.7 billion or around IDR 27.6 trillion, a figure that is the largest investment in 29 years of Microsoft's presence in Indonesia," Meutya said in the launch of Elevaite on Monday, December 2.
Meutya explained that this is not the only investment Microsoft has made in Indonesia. Previously, Microsoft had invested in other programs, but this is the largest investment record, especially in the AI sector.

"We believe that Elevate Indonesia is not the last step, this is the first step for Artificial Intelligence," said Meutya. "For Artificial Intelligence (investment), we must oversee this figure so that it can really be enjoyed by the people of Indonesia."
With this training program, Meutya hopes that Komdigi can train one million digital talents with AI skills. Meutya also hopes that the majority of the digital talents they train, along with Microsoft, are women.
Another hope is to increase the efficiency of public services and supervision in the digital space. The more people who get basic AI training, the knowledge of public technology in the digital space can also be better than before.
"Of course it must be for all levels of society and with the hope that they can understand how AI works, ensure that people are safe and believe in digital transformation efforts. Because trust is also an important element in accepting AI," said Meutya.
