Polda Metro Ogah Participates In The Request Of Kubu Firli Regarding The Termination Of Extortion Cases

Polda Metro Jaya stated that the alleged extortion case that had named Firli Bahuri as a suspect would still be investigated thoroughly.

The statement was made by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak in response to a request to stop handling the case by legal adviser Firli Bahuri.

"I expressly convey and ensure that the investigation into the handling of this case continues," Ade told reporters, Monday, December 2.

He emphasized that the handling of the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) would be carried out professionally and according to the rules.

"Professionally, transparently, and accountably," said Ade.

In this case, investigators have examined 134 witnesses and experts to date. The number is likely to continue to grow as the case is not completed.

Meanwhile, Firli Bahuri through his attorney wrote to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The goal is to ask for the handling of all cases involving him to be stopped.

"We ask the National Police Chief to stop this case by issuing SP3," said Firli Bahuri's attorney, Ian Iskandar.

Not only to the National Police Chief, the application letter was also sent to the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto and the National Police Commission (Kompolnas).

The request to stop handling the case on the grounds that the alleged criminal act of extortion or meeting with litigants while serving as Chairman of the KPK cannot be proven.

"The contents of the letter contain the legal travel process related to the substance of this case, which in our opinion cannot be proven legally," said Ian.
