The Boy Suspected Of Being The Perpetrator Of The Murder In Lebak Bulus Was Not Detained

JAKARTA MAS, a 14-year-old teenager suspected of stabbing his parents in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, has been named a suspect. The child in conflict with the law (ABH) was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code Subsidiary Article 351 of the Criminal Code. However, MAS was not detained.

Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Nurma Dewi, said that MAS was placed in a safe house belonging to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

"He was not detained. He was entrusted to the Ministry of Social Affairs, a child care institution," said Nurma.

At that place, MAS received assistance and monitoring from the Ministry of Social Affairs and the police.

"If you have been deposited there, the system is clear and really (gets assistance)," he said.

MAS attacked his father, APW (40) and his grandmother, RM (69) with a kitchen knife while they were sleeping in their room, at Bona Indah Housing, Lebak Bulus, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Saturday at 01.00 WIB. His mother, AP (40) was also attacked by MAS, but fortunately his mother's life was still safe.

MAS was arrested after he tried to run away from his house, shortly after the incident. Security in his neighborhood saw MAS trying to leave his house covered in blood.
