Inflation to Reach 0.3 Percent in November 2024
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that inflation in November 2024 was recorded at 0.30 percent on a monthly basis or month to month (mom) or higher when compared to October 2024 of 0.08 percent.
Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that inflation in November 2024 was deeper when compared to October 2024.
"There was an increase in the consumer price index from 106.01 in October 2024 to 106.33 in November 2024," she said at a Press Conference in Jakarta, Monday, December 2.
Amalia said that on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) inflation in November 2024 was 1.55 percent. Meanwhile, inflation in the calendar year or year to date (ytd) was 1.12 percent.
"Monthly inflation in November 2024 is higher than in October 2024, but still lower when compared to November 2023," he said.
According to Amalia, the expenditure group that contributed the most to monthly inflation was food, beverages and tobacco with inflation of 0.78 percent with an inflation contribution of 0.22 percent.
Meanwhile, there are commodities that drive inflation in this group, namely shallots and tomatoes with inflation contributions of 0.01 percent each.
In addition, other commodities that contribute to inflation include gold jewelry with a contribution of 0.04 percent, broiler chicken and cooking oil 0.03 percent, and garlic, fresh fish, machine-made kretek cigarettes, and ground coffee each 0.01 percent.
