Roy Keane Claims Harry Kane Is Considering A Move To Manchester United
JAKARTA - Roy Keane claims Harry Kane is "definitely thinking" about a possible move to Old Trafford, and adds the Tottenham striker has a "crush" with Manchester United.
Kane's future has been a topic of conversation in recent months, given the experienced striker is expected to leave Spurs in the summer to fulfil his ambition of winning the trophy.
Tottenham are not expected to be able to retain Kane if they do not qualify for the Champions League, and their hopes were eroded by a 3-1 defeat to United on Sunday.
The defeat, according to Keane, will spark Kane's desire to move to Manchester United.
"For Kane, he will look at the United team today and hear they have made progress over the last 12 months, certainly Kane must have thought: 'I can be a Manchester United forward,'" the former Manchester United captain told Sky Sports on Sunday.
"With the service he will get, Kane will love United," he continued.
Meanwhile, regarding Kane's presence and the guaranteed trophy for United, Keane replied: "If Kane is in the United team, of course."
'Manchester United have closed the gap on City, and Kane will be another big step. Maybe Kane doesn't want to go abroad, Manchester United is still a huge attraction," Keane said.
The Red Devils are 11 points adrift of Manchester City, who top the Premier League table after beating Tottenham last weekend thanks to goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood.
Kane admitted he would wait until the end of the season before making a final decision on his next move, while Real Madrid are also reportedly in the hunt to recruit the 27-year-old.
United have the financial strength to compete with Madrid. Cavani is expected to return to South America in the summer, leaving the No 9 position open to Kane's filly if the Red Devils manage to make a deal with Spurs.
However, Spurs club chairman Daniel Levy is renowned as a formidable negotiator, and the club are rumoured to be asking around £150m (around £3.06m) for the 27-year-old striker.
