Search Operation For Landslide Victims In Deli Serdang Stopped
The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) stated that all victims of the landslide disaster in Sembahe, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra were successfully surfaced, so that the search and rescue operation (SAR) was officially closed, Saturday night, November 30, 2024.
Head of the Medan Mustari SAR Office, citing ANTARA's report, said that a total of 33 landslide victims were located on the Sembahe Cross Road, Deli Serdang to Berastagi City, North Sumatra.
Of the 33 victims, 10 were found dead, and the last victim was a man named Tengku Riski (31), a resident of Medan City.
Tengku was identified by the police in Deli Serdang as a minibus driver who was hit by a landslide while crossing Jalan Lintas Sembahe to Berastagi City on Tuesday night, November 26, 2024.
The victim, Tengku Riski, who was reported missing five days ago, was found in the vicinity of an oil palm plantation in the Namorambe area, Deli Serdang this afternoon at around 16.30 WIB.
Basarnas confirmed that the location where Tengku Riski's body was found was about 15 kilometers from the landslide disaster site.

"In the afternoon, the victim's body was immediately evacuated to the Adam Malik Hospital in Medan and has also been handed over to the family," he said.
Mustari reported that previously joint officers had also evacuated as many as 23 injured victims to Adam Malik Hospital Medan and Sibolangit Health Center.
Therefore, he said, after all the missing victims and injuries were found and received medical treatment including no more reports of missing victims, the SAR operation was officially declared complete and closed.
The closure of the SAR operation was carried out based on the results of a joint agreement between Basarnas and all potential SAR involved, including the TNI, Polri and the Deli Serdang Regency Government.
