Child Kidnapping Case In South Jakarta: Kak Seto Asks Parents To Supervise Children From The Use Of Gadgets

JAKARTA - The head of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI), Seto Mulyadi alias Kak Seto, assessed that the case of a 13-year-old child who was kidnapped by a man he had just known from social media was an omission factor.

Therefore, Kak Seto suggested to parents to give their children strict supervision so that they are not complacent with their own world.

"So in this case, indeed this tool (Handpone) has a very positive and negative value depending on using this tool. One of them is balancing these children with supervision. For example, holding meetings, discussion dialogue," said Kak Seto when confirmed by VOI, Friday, November 29.

However, Kak Seto also suggested that in the process of supervising children by means of a friendly approach.

So that the child does not feel pressured and does not hesitate to tell what he did while using the cellphone.

"But still the controller. Not just an act that is full of tension. For example, it is immediately checked, dismantled but by balancing very active communication, friendly communication, but not bottom-top position," he said.

Reflecting on the Ainun case, Kak Seto hopes that parents, if the child returns, don't give any action that makes the child uncomfortable at home.

Then, he advised not to take the child's cellphone. However, it still provides but with friendship supervision.

"It's better to stay under surveillance. Because children think they choose to fight or get angry, they will run away," he continued.

As previously reported, Kartini (45), Ainun Fitria's mother (13), a victim of the kidnapping of a junior high school student in South Jakarta, admitted that she felt guilty by giving her daughter a cellphone. Because, he felt that Ainun Fitria's kidnapping could not be separated from activities on social media.

"I don't think it's my fault that I've ever checked his cellphone. So I don't know what he's doing, and who's close to him," Kartini said, Friday, November 29.

Kartini admitted that she was very sorry to give cellphones to children who should not have had the device. She was fooled by her daily activities which she judged to be good and responsible.

However, after this incident, he and his friends were shocked. Because he had a quiet personality, he disappeared with a man known on social media.

"Daily quiet at home. My son is responsible, take care of his sister. That's why I believe it," he said.

He really hopes that the police or local residents will find a girl to contact him immediately.

Due to this incident, Kartini intends to withdraw her daughter's cellphone so that a similar incident does not happen again.

"I'm sorry to give you a cellphone, I didn't check it either," he said.
