Tomorrow Fasting, This Wejangan Ketum MUI KH Miftachul Akhyar
JAKARTA - Ketum Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) KH. Miftachul Akhyar welcomes the establishment of the beginning of fasting or 1 Ramadan, tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13.
"We are grateful to the council that we have come together about the beginning of Ramadan," Miftachul Akhyar said at a virtual press conference on Monday, April 12.
According to him, the initial determination of Ramadan is in accordance with the calculation of the reckoning and ruqyah at night. It has been seen legally by 13 people who have been sworn in.
"It means that the reckoning is in line with the ruqyah so that we do not linger to decide that fasting the next day, tonight we pray, bertarawih," he explained.
"We are grateful to Allah SWT, that this year in the green and yellow zones it is allowed to perform tarawih worship and Eid prayer with health protocols," he said.
In addition, with regard to COVID-19 vaccination in ramadan, Ketum MUI reminds that vaccine injection does not cancel people who fast.
"Fasting is not canceled if vaccinated but it should still be considered a health condition rather than a vaccinated person. There's no danger? So the point is that medical personnel should pay attention to this even if the fatwa allows," he said.
"It means not canceling but depending on the condition of each," continued Miftachul.
In addition, given the natural disasters that occurred in several regions in Indonesia, the Chairman of MUI invites people to help each other as worship in Ramadan.
"One important thing of Ramadan, which becomes part of worship, do not forget our social worship by helping others such as the disaster of our brothers in NTT and NTB. Because the best worship is worship in Ramadan," said Miftachul Akhyar.
The government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) stipulates that fasting or the beginning of Ramadan falls on Tuesday, April 13, 2021
Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Coumas said the decision was taken after reports in 13 areas that witnessed the hilal.
The Minister informed the determination of 1 Ramadan, after holding a session of Isbat attended by representatives of islamic organizations and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and several representatives from friendly countries.
