The United Nations Calls Access To Food Supply To Gaza Urgent Because All Bakery Shops Are Closed
JAKARTA - Due to a severe supply shortage amid Israel's ongoing genocide war on Gaza, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) on Friday revealed all bakeries in the Gaza region were forced to close.
"All bakeries in central Gaza have been closed due to severe supply shortages," the WFP statement said via social media platform X, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 30.
Many of us will share a warm meal with loved ones this holiday season. But in #Gaza far too many people are hungry.
WFP food assistance is a lifeline, but supplies are running out.

WFP added that the bread, which is a basic necessity for many families and the only food they can access, is now becoming increasingly difficult to reach by residents.
The United Nations organization warned that "the capability remains a serious threat" to Gazans, and urged "safe and secure access to vital humanitarian aid to Gaza."
Since Israel's initial invasion of Gaza in October 2023, various international groups and UN organizations have called for Israel to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the region to prevent hunger.
Israel started a genocide war against the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Palestinian Struggle group Hamas in October 2023. To date, more than 44,300 people have died, mostly women and children, while nearly 105.000 others have been injured.
The second year of genocide in Gaza has sparked widespread international condemnation. International figures and agencies condemned this attack and blockaded humanitarian aid as a deliberate attempt to destroy Palestinians.
Last week, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing genocide cases at the International Court of Justice related to the deadly war it waged in Gaza.
