JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has banned bars selling liquor, both stand-alone and in-business restaurants, from closing during Ramadan this year.
This decision is stated in the Governor's Decree Number 434 of 2021 and the Decree of the Department of Tourism and Creative Economy DKI Number 313 of 2021.
"Bars selling alcoholic beverages must be closed. It is not allowed to operate during Ramadan", Head of Tourism Industry DKI Jakarta Dedi Sumardi told VOI, Monday, April 12.
Also, live music in restaurants and cafes during Ramadan is prohibited. Previously, during Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Mikro, Anies allowed live music with acoustic type to perform in restaurants. On the record, it doesn't cause a crowd.
"During Ramadan, all live music up to the acoustic type is prohibited. In the future, we will wait for developments", he said.
Dedi said, if there are businesses that still hold live music, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will sanction violations of health protocols by Pergub No. 3 of 2021.
