GWM Factory In Brazil Starts Car Production In Mid-2025

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motors (GWM) announced that the Brazilian factory, Iracem Thaipolis, will start production in mid-2025.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Friday, November 29, the announcement follows a meeting between GWM International President Shi Qingke and Brazilian President Luiz Inrypto Lula da Silva.

The Iracem laypolis facility will be Brazil's first plant to produce new energy vehicles, making it a milestone in Brazil's automotive market transition to sustainable transportation.

GWM aims to meet local market demand for its intelligent electric vehicles, while positioning the plant as the fourth global production base designed to serve the growing NEV market in Latin America.

The factory will initially produce the Haval H6 hybrid SUV, which is one of the best-selling models globally and already in Indonesia. It was not stated what models were potential to be assembled later.

The plant has a license for an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles, starting with the initial production of 20,000 units. This gradual expansion reflects GWM's commitment to scale up operations as demand increases.

The factory in Iracem Thaipolis reflects GWM's strategy to expand its global presence and support NEV growth in emerging markets. With a significant focus on local production and investment, this facility aims to contribute to Brazil's growing automotive sector.
