AGO Examines Family Member Of Suspect Lisa Rachmat In Ronald Tannur's Free Verdict Bribery Case
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) continues to investigate cases of alleged bribery and gratuities related to Ronald Tannur's acquittal. Most recently, three family members of the suspect Lisa Rachmat were examined as witnesses by investigators.
"The investigation was carried out on SC, a relative of the suspect; SA, sister-in-law; and DR, the younger brother of the suspect LR (Lisa Rachmat)," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO, Harli Siregar, Friday, November 29.
In addition, investigators also examined another witness with the initials SJJB who is a private party. Thus, a total of four witnesses were examined on Thursday, November 28.
"The investigation was carried out to explore the roles of the suspects Lisa Rachmat and Zarof Ricar and complete the filing of the case," said Harli.
The role of the suspect In this case, the AGO has named six suspects. Three of them are judges at the Surabaya District Court, namely Erintuah Damanik, Heru Hanindyo, and Mangapul. The other two suspects are Lisa Rachmat, legal adviser Ronald Tannur, and former Supreme Court (MA) official Zarof Ricar.
Another suspect is Meirizka Widjaja, the mother of Ronald Tannur, who is suspected of playing a role as a bribe financier. Meirizka handed over Rp1.5 billion to Lisa Rachmat in exchange to influence the judge in order to give his son acquittal.
The AGO stated that the examination of witnesses was carried out to strengthen the evidence in this case. The investigation is still ongoing in order to reveal more details of the flow of bribe funds and gratuities involving the suspects.
