Government Allocates IDR 17 Trillion To Repair 10,440 Schools In 2025

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said that by 2025 the government had allocated Rp17.15 trillion in funds to rehabilitate 10,440 public and private schools.

"To improve higher quality and equitable education services, for 2025 the government has allocated funds worth IDR 17.15 trillion to rehabilitate the repair and renovation of 10,440 public and private schools," he said at the National Teacher's Day Commemoration Peak event in Jakarta, Thursday, November 28.

Prabowo said the funds would be channeled directly to schools through a cash transfer scheme, and then managed independently by each school.

With this self-management approach, he said, schools can use the budget to buy building materials from the local area and empower local workers.

"The value of the assistance is more useful by the area, by the village, by the sub-district. It can buy materials from the area, workers from the area, can work together, that value can be more useful and more successful to be felt by students, teachers, and local people," he said.

The Head of State said schools are national development centers.

Therefore, the government emphasizes the importance of proper, clean and safe school facilities.

The President stressed that there should be no more schools with collapsed roofs or without adequate sanitation facilities.

Prabowo emphasized the government's commitment to continue working hard to ensure that every rupiah from the state budget is used for the benefit of the people.

"I am the most aware that we still have to improve this. Not 10,000 houses, not 10,000 schools that we need to improve. We have more than 330,000 schools. So, our work is not light but we are determined to work hard. We are determined that every rupiah belonging to the Indonesian people must be enjoyed by the Indonesian people," said the President.
