Emoji Comes True: Apple's Running Shoes Are Now Available In The Real World

JAKARTA - An artist and designer, Jose Wong, has turned the shoe running emoji designed by Apple into a real product. The shoe, dubbed "The Shoe 1", is now available for online purchase at a price of 219.90 US dollars (Rp 3.5 million) per pair, as reported by The Verge.

The emoji of Apple's running shoes, which is familiar to iPhone, iPad, and Mac users, is inspired by the classic design of the New Balance 574 shoe, which is often worn by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. However, the emoji version replaces the New Balance logo with two distinctive parallel lines.

Jose Wong combines elements from New Balance 574 with Apple's signature design to create The Shoe 1. In fact, the packaging is made very minimalist with an envelope that reads "Designed by Josewong in China." The inside of the shoe sole features a mold that resembles the internal iPhone component.

The top of these shoes are made of full nubuck skin and nets to provide air circulation. Midsole and its heels use light EVA foam combined with polyuretan frames for convenience and support throughout the day.

For those interested, The Shoe 1 can now be booked. Wong announced that the shipments will start next week and all sales are final without a refund. With the possibility of a limited stock, these shoes have the potential to become unique collectibles.

This innovation proves that emojis are not only popular on device screens, but can also be a real inspiration in the fashion world.
