Wuling Celebrates Production Of 160,000 Car Units At Indonesian Factory And Exports Cloud EVs To ASEAN
JAKARTA - PT SGWM Motor Indonesia (Wuling) celebrates extraordinary achievements in the country with production touching 160,000 vehicles, from a factory in Cikarang.
This moment is even more special by marking Cloud EV's export debut to the ASEAN market. This momentum is also proof of Wuling's real commitment to supporting the development of the Indonesian automotive industry sector.
President Director of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd, Lv Juncheng said the 160,000 mark reflects the efforts and exploration of SGMW's global partners in pursuing the vision of Building for the future and expanding to the international market''.
"This is also a strong evidence of close cooperation and high coordination between the Chinese government and Indonesia as the pioneer of the expansion of Chinese car companies abroad. SGMW will make a global transition to electrification and digitization," he said, in an official statement received on Thursday, November 28.
As is known, since the operation of the Wuling factory in Indonesia in 2017, this Chinese brand has produced nine lines of vehicles. Starting from ICE which is filled with the model of Conference, Cortez, Almaz, Alvez. Then, the hybrid vehicle is Almaz Hybrid. The electric vehicle (EV) which is divided into Air ev, BinguoEV, Cloud EV and does not miss the Low Commercial Vehicle (LCV) series, namely the Formo and Formo Max series.
The presence of products from Wuling is claimed to be designed to meet consumer needs, of course by prioritizing the combination of technology, high quality to competitive prices.

Wuling is also one of the automotive manufacturers that produces electric vehicles in Indonesia. Wuling is also committed to developing supporting infrastructure such as charging stations, involving local industry players in supply chains, and providing training for workers to encourage the growth of new energy-based industries.

Right steering export base
On the same occasion, Wuling also targets Indonesia as a center for production of right-handed vehicles for the ASEAN region and international markets. With this strategy, Wuling hopes to meet the needs of consumers in neighboring countries in the ASEAN region to other countries with a right steering system.
