How Yamaha Advances The World Of Education In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Yamaha continues to play an active role in the Indonesian motorcycle industry, and is committed to supporting the development of the world of education in the country.
One of the things Yamaha has done is by presenting the Binahan Yamaha Vocational School program which has been running since 2003. This program aims to provide support to Vocational High Schools (SMK), by providing skills and knowledge that suit the current needs of the motorcycle industry through the Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) curriculum.
"This program is carried out by adopting the Motorcycle Engineering curriculum from the Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA), which is in line with the latest developments in the motorcycle industry and refers to the Standard Competency of Indonesia's National Work," said Assistant General Manager CS. Division of PT. Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) Johannes BM Siahaan, in an official statement received, Thursday, November 28.
He further said that this program is expected to reduce the gap between the world of education and industry which is growing rapidly.
"Also to ensure that vocational graduates have skills that comply with current labor market demands," he added.
Yamaha Indonesia's commitment and concern in advancing vocational education continues to be carried out actively and consistently. Of the total SMK Binaan Yamaha, 55 of them have been selected as Special Class Yamaha. These classes get full support in standardizing practice spaces, providing adequate workshop equipment, as well as developing competence in the field of Motorcycle Business Engineering (TBSM).
And recently on November 23, 2024, PT. YIMM inaugurated the Yamaha Special Class at the Cibinong Mechanical Vocational School located in Bogor, West Java. With this, SMK Mechanik Cibinong has officially adopted a curriculum that is in accordance with Yamaha standards.
The principal of the Cibinong Haslih Mechanical Vocational School, said he was very grateful for the inauguration of the Yamaha Special Class at the Cibinong Mechanical Vocational School which is part of the Sumarno Education Foundation.
"We hope that we will become a superior school that can produce a golden generation who is ready to work and independent with competent skills in their fields," said Sumarno.
Sebagai tambah informasi, saat ini Yamaha telah menjalin kerja sama dengan 55 SMK Binaan di wilayah Jabodetabek, di mana 7 di antaranya telah menjadi SMK Kelas Khusus Yamaha, meliputi SMK Negeri 2 Kota Bekasi, SMKN 1 Cikarang Barat, SMK Islam PB. Sudirman 1, SMK Walang Jaya, SMK PGRI 1 Serang, SMK Bangun Nusantara dan SMK Mechanik Cibinong.
