Maudy Ayunda And Iwan Fals Collaboration Presents Self Reflection Dialogue At The City Poem Single
JAKARTA - Maudy Ayunda presented the 'Puisi Kota' as the third single to welcome the release of her upcoming new album. This song was presented through a surprising collaboration with Iwan Fals.
This collaboration represents dialogue and perspectives between artists from two different generations who are united by passion and love for music and storytelling.
Maudy, who wrote, said that Iwan Fals was a person who had a big influence on the development of Indonesian music, so that his involvement as a collaborator made this single a special touch.
"With his track record often with big themes such as reflections of life and social comments, Om Iwan's involvement in this song is a special touch and further strengthens the message I want to convey," Maudy Ayunda said in a press release to VOI, Thursday, November 28.
In addition, his voice also adds a very strong color and impression to the song. "I am very happy and grateful to be collaborating with Om Iwan on this occasion," he continued.
The 'City Piition' is an urban city-themed song that is worked on like a self-reflection dialogue. Maudy wants to invite listeners to dive into the dynamics of life in urban areas, from the boisterous activity to silence that is often missed, as well as find the beauty hidden in it.

This song also reflects the complexity of urban society in finding the meaning of life, finding identity, and giving hope in the midst of social challenges and the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
Maudy said this song was written based on her personal reflection in seeking meaning and clarity in the midst of the hustle and bustle of life.
I always feel that the city is a place where we can get lost and find ourselves. The urban city is full of noise, but in the noise there is a quiet space that allows us to reconnect with ourselves. City transitions' describe the relationship between these two feelings, and how we find rhythm and peace in a city that is so crowded and attracts us in various directions,' said the 29-year-old singer.
"I hope that through this song, people can embrace both the noise and the silence in their lives, no matter how chaotic it is. Because there will always be beauty from chaos, which in the end also helps shape us," added Maudy.
Iwan Fals also commented on this collaboration. He felt that Maudy's voice and that he complement each other, so he could tell the message from the song well.
"City poetry is a song that is suitable for everyone to hear, anyone who has also looked for the meaning of life, was afraid of loneliness and felt lonely in a crowded city, but also found something valuable in the search. In my opinion, Maudy managed to describe it very touched and as it is," said Iwan.
Meanwhile, the production of this song was assisted by Lafa Pratomo who acted as producer, as well as filling in the guitar and synth. Maudy was also assisted by Iskandar (bass), Otta Tarrega (piano), and Barsena Bestandhi (voal director and background singer)
The release of Puisi Kota is the last bridge to the launch of Maudy Ayunda's new album titled One Day. This album is said to be an important milestone in the course of her music career, which presents an artistic perspective and side as a singer as well as a storyteller.
More than just a collection of songs, this album reveals Maudy's deeper and more fragile side, presenting personal stories that have shaped her to date.
The collaboration between Maudy Ayunda and Iwan Fals in the 'Puisi Kota' can be enjoyed on various music streaming platforms and music videos can be seen on Trinity Optima Production's YouTube channel.
