Firli Bahuri Submits Two Letters To Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri submitted two letters to the Polda Metro Jaya. The handover was related to the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

The letter was submitted by Firli Bahuri to the Polda Metro Jaya through his legal team, today.

"Yes, that's right (submitting two letters)," said Firli Bahuri's attorney, Ian Iskandar, to reporters, Wednesday, November 28.

However, the contents of the letter were not clearly conveyed. It is only mentioned that the Polda Metro Jaya will later convey it.

Ian also conveyed a similar answer about his client attending or not the examination scheduled for today.

"We'll see, we'll see," said Ian.

Firli Bahuri plans to be questioned as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against SYL at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit at around 10.00 WIB.

As a reminder, there are two alleged criminal acts that are being investigated regarding Firli Bahuri. First, the alleged extortion of SYL as regulated in Article 12e or 12B or Article 11 in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.

In this case, investigators have examined 134 witnesses and experts to date. The number is likely to continue to grow as the case is not completed.

The second alleged criminal act is a meeting with litigants, namely SYL as stated in Article 36 junto Article 65 of the KPK Law.

In handling the case, 39 witnesses and experts have been examined. However, Firli Bahuri's status is still being reported.

"The total number of witnesses who have been examined is 37 people, with details, 7 members of the National Police, 16 KPK employees, 16 Ministry of Agriculture employees, 4 civilians, 1 criminal expert, and 1 procedural law expert," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.
