Ciliwung At Manggarai Water Gate Alert 3, Jakarta Residents Asked To Beware Of Floods

JAKARTA - Heavy rains that flushed the upstream area of the Ciliwung River have made the status of the Manggarai Water Gate in Central Jakarta, a third alert level, on Thursday, November 28.

The height of the water discharge at the Manggarai Sluice Gate was also exacerbated due to local rain that flushed the capital area on Wednesday, November 27 evening.

Based on data from BPBD Jakarta, the water discharge has increased at an altitude of 835 centimeters (cm), so the status of the Manggarai Water Gate is now on alert three, Thursday morning.

Manggarai Sunar Water Gate operator officers revealed that an increase in water discharge had started since 04.00 WIB this morning.

"For now, the water level at the manggarai floodgate is 835 cm, previously at 790 cm. The water started to rise from 04.00-05.00 this morning approaching 06.00 WIB. For now, the status of the Manggarai Water Gate is at 835 cm on standby three," said Sunar.

He predicts that if the rain continues to pour, the water discharge height will increase by 5 cm with a range of 840 cm.

In addition to shipments from the upstream area of the Ciliwung River in the Bogor and Depok areas, the water discharge height was also exacerbated due to local rain that flushed the capital city area on Wednesday night.
