Gregoria Aims For Indonesia Masters 2025 Title

JAKARTA Gregoria Mariska Tunjung has ambitions to win the Indonesia Masters 2025, which will automatically become the history of her first title in public.

The Indonesia Masters 2025 is scheduled to take place on January 21-26, 2025 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. The total prize is 475 thousand US dollars or around Rp7.6 billion.

Gregoria is quite confident in winning the Super 500 BWF level event after experiencing performance improvements in recent tournaments.

"This year there can be several semifinals in Super 500. So, of course, it will appear in Indonesia with the same level of matches, so I want to give my best," he said.

Less than a year after leaving as junior world champion in 2017, Gregoria was recorded to have made her debut in the event which was originally known as the Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold.

Thus, the 2025 edition is the eighth appearance of the 25-year-old athlete in this event. On the previous seven occasions, his best trip was quarter-finals in two recent editions.

"I want to get a title in Indonesia for the first time. I have that motivation and hopefully it can be done with good preparation and high hard work, hopefully it can be achieved," said Gregoria.

Since starting in 2010, Indonesia has recorded title dragging from women's singles at the Indonesia Masters event. It was noted that only Adriyanti Firdasari won this event in 2014.

The Indonesia Masters is one of three major tournaments that will take place during January 2025. Prior to the event, there were the Malaysia Open (Super 1000) and the India Open (Super 750).
