Bogor City Election 2024, One KPPS Officer Dies

BOGOR Acting Mayor of Bogor, Hery Antasari, gave a report regarding the results of monitoring and monitoring the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada in Bogor City, which went smoothly despite a tragic incident. One of the officers of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) reportedly died while carrying out their duties.

Hery said that since Wednesday morning, November 27, the results of monitoring from several polling stations (TPS) showed that the implementation of the Pilkada in Bogor City went well and according to plan.

"We have gathered information from the KPU, friends in the region, and all Pilkada desks. So far, the Bogor City Pilkada is going well," Hery said at a press conference, Thursday, November 28.

However, Hery acknowledged that several incidents were triggered by extreme weather conditions, such as floods, landslides, and damage to buildings due to heavy rains that flushed the city of Bogor since noon.

In addition, Hery also reported a sad incident, namely the death of one of the KPPS officers at TPS 01 Situ Gede Village, West Bogor, at around 10:00 WIB while on duty.

"We also report and ask for prayers for one of the heroes of democracy, an officer who died while carrying out his duties," said Hery.

According to Hery, the results of the doctor's examination at Medika Dramaga Hospital stated that the KPPS officer who died had no previous history of illness, but was diagnosed with a heart attack while on duty.

The Bogor City Government together with Forkopimda ensured that the entire process of handling the incident had been carried out properly, including paying full attention to the family of the deceased.

"All parties move to serve and facilitate until the funeral procession is complete. We will take care of everything related to his family," said Hery.

The implementation of the 2024 Pilkada in Bogor City continues to run well despite the challenges and incidents.
