This Morning, Residents Of Kebon Pala, East Jakarta Are Flooded Again

JAKARTA - A number of settlements belonging to Kebon Pala, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, were again flooded on Thursday, November 28, morning.

From VOI's observation, due to flooding of road access and residents' activities, it was isolated. Residents who will be active along flooded roads are forced to use rubber tires.

Moreover, the children under five who live in densely populated residential areas were also evacuated by their parents with round rubber tires.

It was observed that the children under five were raised to the rubber tires and then pushed by their parents to a safer evacuation site.

In addition, the activities of children and teenagers who want to go to school are also disrupted. Students pack their uniforms using plastic so they don't get wet, and they break through flooded puddles in free clothes.

Later the students will wear uniforms in locations that are safer from flooding.

The flood came from the overflow of the Ciliwung River which was around the flood location. In addition, coupled with the heavy rain on Wednesday, November 27, yesterday afternoon.

"The water level is almost 100cm. Water has started to enter residential areas since Thursday morning," said Nimbrot, a resident around the flood site.

Floods that inundated the area disrupted the activities of residents who were about to work. They have difficulty crossing flood puddles. The reason is, several motorbikes belonging to residents have also been flooded.

Nimbrot hopes that the Jakarta Governor's candidate can seriously solve the flood problem in his area. The reason is that this area has been a flood subscription for years.

"To the new governor of Jakarta, he must seriously handle the flood. Residents are tired of this flood condition, the governor must deal with flooding in Jakarta as soon as possible, but there should be no evictions. That's the point, there should be no evictions for houses," he said.

Until this news was written, this area was still flooded. Meanwhile, the Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Province, Isnawa Adji, has not provided an official statement regarding the floods in Jakarta this morning.
