BMKG: Most Of Indonesia Is Rainy, Beware Of Thunderstorms In Several Cities
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Indonesia will generally experience rain on Thursday, November 28.
BMKG forecaster Nurul Izzah Fitria explained that the weather for big cities in Sumatra such as Banda Aceh with thick clouds, Padang and Tanjung Pinang has the potential for light rain, and Medan and Pekanbaru have the potential for rain accompanied by lightning.
"Pangkal Pinang is generally thick cloudy, while Palembang and Lampung have the potential for light rain, and Jambi and Bengkulu have the potential for rain accompanied by lightning," said Nurul.
On the island of Java, said Nurul, the weather in Serang, Semarang, and Surabaya is forecast for light rain, while it is predicted that Jakarta will experience moderate rain, and Bandung and Yogyakarta will predict rain accompanied by lightning.
In Kalimantan, he continued, the weather in Pontianak and Samarinda is forecast for light rain, and people in Tanjung Selor, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin are advised to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning.
"In Mataram, generally light rain, moderate rain in Denpasar, and Kupang is forecasted for rain accompanied by lightning," he said.
In Sulawesi, said Nurul, light rain is predicted to fall in Gorontalo and Palu, moderate rain in Makassar and Mamuju, heavy rain in Manado, and rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Kendari.

Finally, in Eastern Indonesia, he explained, the weather is generally forecasted for light rain, apart from the Nabire and Jayawijaya where moderate rain is forecast.
