Heavy Rain In Bogor Causes Katulampa Dam To Be Alert 3, Jakarta Residents Beware Of Floods
BOGOR Heavy rains that flushed Bogor on Wednesday, November 27, resulting in the Water Level (TMA) of the Ciliwung River at Katulampa Dam reaching 100 centimeters (cm), entering Alert 3 status for potential flooding in Jakarta.
According to a report from the Katulampa Dam supervisor, TMA began to increase since 15.00 WIB and reached 100 cm at 19.00 WIB. The head of the Katulampa Dam, Andi Sudirman, said that this increase was due to even rainfall in the Bogor area since noon.
"Wednesday afternoon, TMA is still normal below 50 cm. However, heavy rains caused a drastic increase, reaching 100 cm or Alert 3 status," Andi said on Wednesday evening.
Changes in TMA at Katulampa Dam:- 15.00 WIB: TMA starts to rise, exceeding 50 cm.- 17.00 WIB: TMA reaches 80 cm (Alert 4).- 17.30 WIB: TMA rises to 100 cm (Alert 3).- 18.00 WIB: TMA had touched 120 cm before it stabilized in 100 cm.
Andi predicts that the Ciliwung River TMA will continue to increase, given the high rainfall upstream of the river, especially in the Puncak area, Cisarua. He estimates that the water will arrive in the downstream area, including Jakarta, within 10 to 12 hours.
People living on the banks of the Ciliwung River and flood-prone areas in Jakarta need to increase their vigilance," Andi appealed.
